Walking to the Village Gate . . .

...and on to church.

The girls were bringing cut flowers from around the
Village to add to a going away celebration
for a church member.

On the Way Home from the Volta Region

On our way back from the Compassion project,
we stopped at a resort by the Lake Volta to enjoy the view.
We took the photo before the guard told the kids to stop touching the hippo.
Oops.

The kids with Mr. Francis, a driver for the Village as well as a friend.

Meeting in Ghana

Martha has been here to visit her Compassion child, and also our Village! We had a good day trip to a different Region to meet her sponsored child, his family, and have a tour of the program center in that town.

We first met Martha early in 2015 at Survival Training, and she's been serving as ChildCare Administrator at the Rwanda Village since her arrival there late in 2015. It's been very encouraging to have a friend to talk with for a couple days—and to share ideas about ChildCare in our respective Villages.

I'm thankful she could come!

to take their studies seriously.

We were welcomed with much fanfare!

GAMES Lite -- 3rd term break

During the break most of the older kids were out of the Village visiting relatives, but the 5 who were here proved to be great leaders. We met for 3 sections: art & audio book, nature video, and sports for 4 mornings. The fifth day finale was WATER GAMES--water slide, water relays, and water balloon stations. Even the parents were persuaded to compete in a water relay. I'm pretty sure everyone had fun! (The bikes have been repaired and are being ridden, too.) Whew. I need a break.

These two are old pros and are even outgrowing our bikes.

Art & Audiobook session. Grace Nelson was a great leader!

Even when school is on break, these kids love a good assembly
to start the day's activities. And they always start with prayer
even without adult prompting.

Dodgeball with water balls--running to be first to get a ball.

Happy to see this little guy smiling after the sadness he suffered from
a "too short" haircut.

This little girl is a dynamo. Compared to everyone she slid
the farthest across the grass making her slip n slide runs last.

Unique style for this little guy.

Quick, quick, but don't slosh out all your water.

Arrgh. Putting on a soaking wet t-shirt is not as easy as
it seems especially when you're racing.

Even us parents got into the fun. I didn't feel a need to cover
my hair with a plastic bag like the Mas did.

Mr. Kingsley was our fastest team-mate.

Ma Sussie was most animated and determined.

The water balloon toss. It never gets boring.

Even in Art  & Audiobook session, Francis was thinking about riding bikes.
