During the break most of the older kids were out of the Village visiting relatives, but the 5 who were here proved to be great leaders. We met for 3 sections: art & audio book, nature video, and sports for 4 mornings. The fifth day finale was WATER GAMES--water slide, water relays, and water balloon stations. Even the parents were persuaded to compete in a water relay. I'm pretty sure everyone had fun! (The bikes have been repaired and are being ridden, too.) Whew. I need a break.
These two are old pros and are even outgrowing our bikes.
Art & Audiobook session. Grace Nelson was a great leader!
Even when school is on break, these kids love a good assembly
to start the day's activities. And they always start with prayer
even without adult prompting.
Dodgeball with water balls--running to be first to get a ball.
Happy to see this little guy smiling after the sadness he suffered from
a "too short" haircut.
This little girl is a dynamo. Compared to everyone she slid
the farthest across the grass making her slip n slide runs last.
Unique style for this little guy.
Quick, quick, but don't slosh out all your water.
Arrgh. Putting on a soaking wet t-shirt is not as easy as
it seems especially when you're racing.
Even us parents got into the fun. I didn't feel a need to cover
my hair with a plastic bag like the Mas did.
Mr. Kingsley was our fastest team-mate.
Ma Sussie was most animated and determined.
The water balloon toss. It never gets boring.
Even in Art & Audiobook session, Francis was thinking about riding bikes.
